THINK AND GROW RICH is one of the best books so far that changes the lives of many people positively. The book really speaks in the lives of people who read and practically follow the lay down rules to wealth, success and attaining greatness in life. It is truly land mark for success and wealth learners.
Chapter one of this book reveals one of the money making secret which is “power of thought” Truly “thought are thing when mixed with purpose persistence and a burning desire for their translation into riches or other material object. Great men like Henry Ford, Edwin C.Barnes, Steven Spielberg, Bill Gate and others have used this power of thought to grow rich. What I discovered in this chapter one is that my thoughts need to be developed and take a move to make it a reality either negative or positive. I know mine need to be positive and I need to take it to the highest level. Yes! When thought becomes a real definite it will brings you to your success and riches. Edwin C.Barnes discovered the truth and used it to grow riches with Thomas Edison one of the great business man in his own time.
Barners started his first business with Thomas Edison from his “thinking” and later made a move by asking Edison to give him opportunity and later he (Barnes) became an associate and grow rich. I learnt something here; Barnes had definite thought and purpose and he stood by it despite that the thought did not work but through intensifying his thought by hard work and not giving up, he succeeded at the end and became one of the rich people in his own time. Hey guy; your thought needs to be filled with determination in life if truly you want to succeed.
ALSO;I learn that ‘every man is a master of his own fate, captain of his own soul’ says English poet W.C.Henhery.This mean that we have the power to control our though. Power makes no attempt to discriminate between destructive and constructive thought, that it will urge us to translate into physical reality of riches or poverty. To enjoy the fullness of life and grow rich you need to:
· Maintain a spirit of open mindedness
· Read the stories of great successful men and women.
· Practice their principles.
These will really help you a lot.
Chapter two
‘DESIRE’ IS another secret of money-making desire also is a first step to riches. Barnes’ desire was not hope. It was not a wish .It was a keen, pulsating desire, which transcended everything else. It was definite. Barnes succeeded because he choose a definite goal, and place all his energy, all his will power and all his effort into achieving that goal. This is a remarkable illustration of the power of a definite desire.
I learnt something here that every person who wants to win must be ready and willing to place all cost for what he is bargaining for and willing to cut all source of retreat. “only by so doing can one be sure of maintaining that state of doing known as a burning desire to win” Here is a case study:
A long while ago, a great warrior had to make a decision which ensured his success on the battle field. He was about to send his armies against a powerful foe, whose man outnumbered his own. He loaded his soldiers into boats sailed to the enemy’s country, unloaded soldiers and equipment, and then gave the order to burn the ship that had carried them. Addressing his men before the first battle, he said “you see the boats going up in smoke. That means that we cannot leave these shores alive unless we win! We now have no choice “we win or we perish” they won. Nobody wins a race without a strong desire, passion with definite determination also:
In this chapter two, I learnt that need to determine and have strong passion to win; this should be seen in my action and speech always.. Here are the formulas suggested to build strong desire:
1. fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire, be definite (e.g. I need 1.5)
2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire (may be service or deal)
3. Establish a definite date when you desire when you intend to posses the money you desire.
4. Create a definite plan for carry out you desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
5. Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire. Name the time limit for its acquisition.
6. Read your written statement aloud, twice daily.
Hey: if you can follow these steps carefully, you will see a good result. This hypothesis is applicable to any pursuit in life. IT really works!
